Hi folks..I need some suggestions & tips!!.I should be moving to CHICAGO sometime in july’07.I have a diploma in Hospitality industry and currently working as a service admin &sales in the caribbean.Im kinda worried about getting a job when i get there.Is sales a good field or should i consider another field and concentrate on it??I would also be doing my associate’s in accountancy or business adminstration in a month.How good are the job prospects once i complete it?Thanks for your time and inputs.
U said u r going to chicago in july-07 is that a vacation or employment. When u have already palnned to go to USA. Study what is in demand or aid u in getting an employment in USA. Also see h u can add value to ur main course if u happen to go to USA for education. Whatever it is u must do what u like most. To do that U must atleast know how many such things are there to test. I mean check out various programmes evaluate and then decide. For example geo synthetics is an attractive field. Have u heard about it its about basic u should know thats it. Go ahead check everything and do what u like it most?
Can i continue in the same field?

sales jobs are easy to get but hard to keep. If that is what you like go for it. Accountacy jobs are harder to get but easier to keep. With out experience you will need to look for a ground level position and work your way up. Like a book keeper, AP clerk, etc. They don’t pay much, but they are the road to getting into accounting. If you gat your CPA there are also alot of temp jobs you can get that pay well.

Firstly, I would like to ask u a question. are u Aggressive enough to get into sales and marketing? Coz u say u have done diploma in hospitality, which is more of Service in nature, and now u want to do associates in account or biz Admin. i guess Ur not sure of what u want to focus on….
What i suggest is if u could focus on what ever u’r in now that’s good.. coz u know changing of profession is not so easy and moreover succeeding in it is more challenging that any thing…..
And since I’m MBA finance, u’r switching on to finance with out proper knowledge of it would not be feasible….
Any ways try hard to focus u’r determination may also creep Ur fruit, BEST OF LUCK
