I should do the service tax related job. Kindly brief m

Don’t know what you mean, so I’ll give you some possibilities:

When you pay your peeps, this is what you enter:

wages expense…1000 (dr)
fica tax payable…77 (cr)
fed withholding…100 (cr)
cash in bank…….823 (cr)

payroll tax expense…277 (dr)
futa tax payable…80 (cr)
suta tax payable…120 (cr)
fica tax payable…77 (cr)

The first entry pays out your cash, the second entry records employer taxes.

(Damn, you’re in India. I should have looked first. The first answer looks right.)

My current major is Financial Services, but I am thinking to change my major to Accounting because I’ve heard that it is easier to get job if graduate as a accounting major since they can get CPA licenses and things like that to have a better advantage compared to others. Is that true? Should I stick with Financial Services or change my major to accounting in order to have more job opportunities in the future?

Accounting is a steadier career. In this economy, steady is in demand. Most layoffs are found in finance than accounting. Even when a company bankrupts, the last to go are the accountants… somebody has to close the books.

When a finance company recruits new hires, candidates with CPA are moved up the list for understanding cash flows and financial statements. Everything the finance candidate knows, the accountant can easily pick up with experience. Harder for finance worker to pick up accounting.

Obviously i don’t want to become an accountant at this age (just to make that clear lol)

I have a few questions about Accountancy….
I’m really interested in the whole idea of the business and finance sector and i think accountancy is an appropriate job choice for the future…

However, as i’m only 16 i’ve just picked my A Levels to study this september and i’ve chosen:
IFS (Institue of Financial Services Qualification), Double Applied Business, History & Physcology

However, my boyfriend wants to be accoutnant also and has been doing an AAT course at college (he is 17)
How would i go about doing all these Accounting qualifications if i’m going to be in full time education next year at sixth form

Also how do you get into accounting? I’m not sure if i want to go to university yet and if you’re going to do accounting at uni i’m sure you need Maths A Level, and i’m not amazing at maths (accounting uses calcultors alot of the time which is useful for me)

I’m sorry it’s long, but can anyone give me some advice into getting into accounting because as i’m getting older i need to think about my job choices!

1)be good at math as much as u can coz most of the accountant should be good at math
2) go to university and take accounting major
3)take the CPA ===>Certified Public Accountant

you need to be good at figures, although accounting needs mostly simple math (plus, minus, multiple and divide)

major accounting at university to finish all the required accounting courses for the professional accounting body of your country, and then pass their professional accounting exam

Do they charge sales tax for services rendered?

The quick answer to your question is NO they normally do not charge sales tax.

A more complete answer depends on the state (and maybe even the county) your asking about. But I can tell you how it works in Florida.

I am going to assume that the best way to explain it is by an example.

Example) Your battery cable in your car has failed, you take it to a garage and you supply the cable. In this case the labor isn’t taxable. But, if you let them buy the cable the labor can be subject to sales tax. Again, this is different from state to state.

So following that theory, if the CPA only does auditing or bookkeeping services it shouldn’t be subjected to sales tax. However, if the CPA provides you with software…then it might be taxable (sales tax).

I have my free Y! id, but I also have a Small Business account, with a domain & email account associated. My bank recently changed my credit card number, and I simply need to sign into my Small Business account to update the number.

When I go into My Account, and ask to Manage My Premium Services, it asks me for my password again — fine, but no matter what I do, it won’t go past the screen asking for my password! I’m not entering it incorrectly (& my capslock isn’t on), because I’m not getting an error message. I’ve tried an incorrect password, and then I do get an error message. It just keeps asking over & over again for my password, but never brings me further so I can update my account.

I’ve tried contacting Customer Service 3 times now, but they’re not responding… I’ve tried arranging a callback (they never called) and tried through the online Help Page.

Can anyone offer some advice? I really don’t want to lose my Small Business domain name & email account!

Here are a few things to try.
Clear your history, temporary files (this one takes a while – wait for the hourglass to stop) & cookies, restart the computer and retry. . Here is the HELP link for how to do this in different browsers: http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/yahoomail/settings/settings-13.html

Also: If it is STILL doing it, scripting may be disabled in your Internet Explorer. This may happen due to updates. To enable scripting, follow the instructions on this HELP page (it is for Messenger, but it may help here as well): http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/messenger/messenger75/entertainment/entertainment-35.html

Or try this link to switch back to Classic:

You would debit (increase) the expense on the income statement and credit (increase) accounts payable on the balance sheet under the accrual method of accounting. When you actually pay the bill next month, you will credit (decrease) cash and debit (decrease) the account payable. So in the accounting equation, liabilities would increase and equity would decrease when the bill is received. When the bill is paid, assets would decrease and liabilities would decrease.
